The town of Dundee is gearing up to bid farewell to its cherished elementary school building, which has stood as a cornerstone of the community for 72 years. The event, aptly named “Farewell Old Dundee,” invites all residents to take a nostalgic stroll through the historic halls one last time on Sunday, August 18. The open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the old school located at 140 Fifth Street in Dundee.

Following the open house tours, the festivities will move to Billick-Park, conveniently situated next to the old school. The “Party in the Park” promises fun for all ages, featuring cotton candy, carnival games, ice cream, hotdogs, vendors, and much more.

The beloved old school is being replaced by a new, state-of-the-art facility funded through bonds, located at 800 SE Eighth Street in Dundee. While the community will soon say goodbye to the old structure, anticipation is already building for an upcoming open house at the new site.

The farewell event provides a perfect opportunity for former students, teachers, and community members to reflect on their memories while looking forward to the future of education in Dundee. Don’t miss out on this chance to celebrate both the past and the exciting developments to come.
